Covered my drums, no fuss

I finally got around to insuring my drum kit. I'd been meaning to for ages. Insure4Music came up in a search, so I checked them out. The website was easy to navigate and getting a quote took maybe ten minutes. It wasn't complicated to figure out what kind of cover I needed. Everything just went through smoothly, and I got the documents in my email. It was nice not to have any drama, just got it done.

Comprehensive DJ equipment cover

I recently purchased DJ Equipment Insurance for my mixer and turntables. The online quote process was straightforward, letting me add specific items and their values. I received my policy documents via email within minutes of payment. Delivery, of course, isn't applicable here, but the digital delivery was very efficient. I did have a question about 'in-vehicle cover' versus 'worldwide travel cover' for an upcoming festival, so I used their online chat. The representative was knowledgeable and clarified the differences clearly, which helped me adjust my policy slightly. The quality of coverage seems robust for the price I paid, including accidental damage. Overall, a good experience.

Easy setup, great coverage!

I got Public Liability Insurance for my band through Insure4Music, and it was so easy! The website was simple to use, and I got my policy documents right away. It's a huge relief knowing we're covered for gigs. I will definitely be back to renew next year and have already told our other band members to check them out!

Good value, minor website glitch

I bought Musical Instrument Insurance for my cello. The pricing seemed quite competitive, especially with the multi-instrument discount I qualified for. Getting the quote was quick, but when I tried to go back and edit one of my instrument values, the website glitched a bit and I had to start the whole quote over. It wasn't a huge deal, just a bit annoying. Customer service was fine, though I didn't need much interaction beyond the initial policy setup. The cover itself seems comprehensive, including theft and accidental damage which is what I needed most. Overall, I feel like I got good value, despite that small hiccup with the online form.

Good deal for a first-timer

This was my first time getting insurance for my saxophone. I shopped around a bit and Insure4Music had a pretty good introductory offer. I also looked for a student musician discount, which they offered, making the premium even more affordable. The whole process of getting a quote and setting up the policy online was smooth and easy. I felt like I got a really good price for the coverage, especially for a beginner like me who's on a budget. It felt like a smart purchase and I definitely saved some cash.

If I get a new pedal or something later, can I just add it to my existing policy or do I have to take out a whole new one?

D Danielle Moore 3 weeks ago
Nah, you can just add equipment. I added a new synth a few months after getting my policy, super easy to do online.

They let you amend your policy and add more gear. The premium might change a bit depending on the value, but it's not a big deal.

Has anyone actually had to make a claim with them for damaged gear? How was the process?

B Ben 1 month ago
Thankfully haven't had to claim myself, but heard from a friend it was pretty straightforward. Online form, send evidence, etc.

I claimed for a snapped guitar neck. It was pretty quick, had to send photos and get a repair quote, but they sorted it out within a couple of weeks.

Anyone know if you can get a discount if you're a member of the Musicians Union?

A Ashley Parker 1 month ago
Pretty sure they do a MU member discount. Saw it mentioned somewhere on their site when I was getting a quote.

They do! Got 10% off my policy last year because I'm with the MU. Just mention it when you're going through the quote process.

Is Insure4Music the same as Ripe Insurance or something? I keep seeing Ripe mentioned.

J Jeff J. 3 weeks ago
Yeah, I think Insure4Music is actually part of Ripe. They're like the umbrella company.

Correct, Insure4Music is a brand under Ripe Insurance. They're fully legit.

Hey, wondering if anyone's had experience with their public liability insurance. Is it actually legit for playing gigs at different venues?

A Alex Jackson 4 weeks ago
Yeah, pretty sure it's standard. Most venues ask for proof of public liability these days, and Insure4Music policies usually cover that requirement.

B Brittany Torres 3 weeks ago
Used them for my band's public liability for years, never had an issue. It covers you up to a decent amount if something goes wrong, like someone tripping over a cable.
